I have been a loyal Liberal before I was voted and I have voted you in Millwoods for councilman.  I volunteered for the Young  Liberals since Mr. Dion.  Now as a Infrastructure Minister in  Justin Trudeau's cabinet I would please consider this approsal in Canada that I believe needs to be done now and fast in the 21st century.  That plan is having a smartphone for every smartphone for every person in Canada even 14 year old students and homeless in Canada we need to have this tool for everyone.  I also believe that these smartphones should be free, and as Infrastructure Minister you should create a free wifi network all over Canada from Coast to Coast to Coast.

Having thousands of these wifi spots even in Nunavut or Hinton and giving usernames and passwords for every person of Canada.  This will be necessary in this information age and quaternary industries will make Canada the greatest and productive economic engine to will reduce our deficit in 4 years. I Truly believe in this new brave world for Canada and I hope that you will also feel as deeply as I am.  I am excited to see your possible start in Edmonton as a pilot plan.  We hope that you will improve education and increase a lot of jobs.  Humbly awaiting you reply.
Apr. 28th, 2013 @ 09:52 pm Plumbing
Does anyone have any recommendations for a plumber? One of our pipes in the basement started leaking/pouring when our toilet upstairs was flushed.
I don't want to just pick a random person from the phone book to come look at it as I've heard so many horror stories of bad handymen and we don't really know anyone to ask.
Anyone have a company or someone they know is fair and doesnt screw things up that they recommend?

Hello again, once again looking for suggestions. For those of you ladies with short haircuts, where do you do your 'do? My hair's past my shoulderblades again and it's making me antsy, which means it might be nearing the time where I hack it all off. I typically go to Shadified on the north end for cuts, but my favourite stylist there left some time ago and I can't seem to find a new one that I like, and am looking to change salons entirely now. I'm not asking for much, just someone who can do a shorter, spiky/wispy hairdo, maybe with some layering, but without charging an arm and a leg for it. Not making me look like a poodle is a bonus.

Thanks in advance.

November 28, 2012

Below is the text from an open letter to patients from 27 family physicians representing more than 60,000 patients (constituents) in Edmonton-Rutherford (Minister Horne's constituency) with significant concerns regarding the future delivery of their health care.

cut only to save those folks who also read the Alberta LJ, 'cuz I'm cross-posting.

Does anyone know if there's bus service (or carpooling) semi-regularly to Morinville, Westlock, Busby or surrounding areas? I know St. Albert used to offer bus service there but it looks like it's been discontinued and I can't seem to find anything else relevant to getting there.

Sup E-town. Is anyone privy to where one might find used textbooks? More specifically, I'm looking for Along These Lines (4th edition). I've been through Amazon (shipping/delivery times are too long, as far as I could tell), Kijiji, other random Edmonton forums, but to no avail. I'm OK if the book has been gently or heavily used. As long as the content is legible, I give nary a fuck.

I'm okay if I have to wait a few days to get it (the latest being, like, this coming Wednesday), but I was only informed last-minute (first day of class) that said book was needed.

Thanks in advance as always.

Oh and just to clarify: I know I can get the book at any of the campus stores, but they want $60 for even the used ones. I'm already forking out $90 for each 3 hour class and am hoping I can be a fussy bitch and find it for less.

Hello there, fellow Edmontonians,
Can anyone recommend a local store that rents evening dresses or sells them for cheap? Internet rental sites are not an option in my case, as I have to try the stuff on.
Thanks a lot for any advice!
Aug. 7th, 2012 @ 02:47 pm Looking for a room.
Hi guys. My name is Tais. I am PhD student of the University of Alberta and looking for a room. I am interested in studio apartments or rooms for one person. But if you have any other options, I will be happy to discuss them as well.
For all questions and suggestions please write me here or on my email " alexlpn "@" hotmail.com ".
Thanks in advance. =)
Jun. 26th, 2012 @ 10:37 am The Dangers of Location Sharing Apps
Parents (and maybe us teachers, too), talk to your kids and teens about the dangers of location sharing apps, even simple check-ins. Trying to keep them disconnected from WiFi is pointless due to unguarded networks and public hotspots; they can only be protected by their own knowledge and personal vigilance about what their apps are sharing. When it comes to keeping your child out of the hands of predators, an ounce of prevention is surely worth it.

Here's a good article on the issue, which also mentions the rapes of 3 minors who were located by predators using an app called "Skout":

Hi y'all!

So... My future-in-laws spend lots of time in Vegas, which means they spend lots of time living in a city with a Trader Joe's. The last time they were down there, they brought back this amazing snack... dried green mango. I LOVE it, but I've never seen it available here. I do intend to check out the obvious suspects (organic markets, health food stores), but I figured maybe someone in this community has seen it around. I am looking specifically for dried green mango that is sweetened and unsulfured (I just prefer unsulfured... but if its not available than the regular sulfured kind will do, I guess!)

Thank you everyone!
